Liquid WAVVES? This seems like a great idea in theory. GZA is a hip-hop legend, and WAVVES are one of the most relevant indie bands around. Both are lauded for their unconventional styles of music, so putting them together might be a good idea, right? Either way, Liquid Swords is one of the greatest rap records/albums of all time. GZA milks it for all it’s worth, but that’s okay. Liquid Swords 2: The Return of the Shadowboxer is still in the works with a rumored 2011 release. Quite a claim. Will his new album be a success for Shady Records? With all of the hype Yelawolf has been receiving in the past year, it seems very likely. Radioactive drops on September 27.

DOOM/STARKS is the long-in-the-works collaboration between rappers MF DOOM and Ghostface Killah and “Victory Laps” is the first single released from their upcoming TBA album on the Nature Sounds label.

The single has recently been released via limited-edition red cassette, which some have compared to Raekwon’s Purple Tape, but I choose to reserve that claim until the actual mythical DOOM/STARKS LP makes itself known. We’ve seen collaborations from these two before. DOOM has done production for Ghostface and Ghost has spit on a few DOOM tracks such as Angels and The Mask.

If you’re familiar with Playboy, you might recognize Tamara Witmer. She was a former Playmate of the Month, Miss August 2005, and was featured on the cover in October 2006.
