Scunge Says #5: Love & Ninja turtles
Scunge Says that you really need to hear this. So the other day I was trying to explain to the pre-wifey (oh got engaged since we last spoke, thank you, thank you) the position and correlation of our personalities as it pertains to our particular relationship. And it dawned on me…we’re the mother fuckin Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Let me explain… Remember the theme song of the 80s cartoon show?
“Leonardo leads, Donatello does ma-chi-ines! Raphael is cool but rude (gimme a break!), Michelangelo is party dude (partay!).” I assigned her the positions of Leo and Raph while I took on Donny and Mikey. If there’s a decision to be made; where to eat, what to watch, when to do laundry; its made by her. If something involves tools; “Put together my vanity”, “Connect the cable box”, “Install a toilet paper dispenser”; I’m the guy.
Someone or some company needs yelling at on the phone, or a price adjusted, or something done lickety split with with backtalk or bullshit; she’s your man. Partying? Scunge.
Yeah…so I just thought I’d share this with yous ’cause she wasn’t 100% on board the “TMNT Personality Trait” train…and wasn’t as amused as I thought she’d be when I came to bed in a purple t-shirt and orange boxer briefs and I pointed out that her night gown was red and blue. That was so Raphael of her.

Trailer for the New Thundercats cartoon
A few weeks back I posted a picture of what the new look for the updated Thundercats would look like. I had my doubts because all 80s cartoon remakes dont have the same nostalgic feeling. Maybe age has a part to play (kanye shrug)
Any who the trailer isn’t bad. In fact its kinda badass. so many questions need answers…. Will it take place on Third earth ? Will Jaga & Claudius be major players in the new series, will series focus on Lion-O’s journey as the group’s would-be ruler ?

I am all for reboots. In fact it always great to have a fresh take on something that has become stale, its a crap shoot everything cant be the Chris Nolan Batman series. (IMO one of the best reboots of a franchise PERIOD)
80s cartoons are a different beast entirely, Transformers have been done tweaked, repackaged time & time again and seems to have a winning formula due to the Michael Bay films. He-Man was rebooted well written, but failed to grab an audience the toy line was going to make or break that cartoon. (its about the toys to sell to the kiddies)
Now Thundercats get’s a reboot you remember Thundercats, Human looking cats with weapons fighting Mutants & a Mummy… I loved the Cats growing up, it was scary exciting & you learned some type of lesson cause thats just how 80s toons were done. Watching the series again in my late 20s I’ve grown to love the art work but not the content the content was masked by the ACTION.

Jesus Christ was that UNICRON ? Michael Bay always cuts a vague trailer that has you wanting more, only to build such a hype & not follow through. Case in point Transformers 2.
Damn you Hollywood for exploiting my childhood cartoon nostalgia with weak payoffs & amazing special effects.
Since there is no Megan Fox wtf am I gonna watch on the screen ? Lets face it the shots of her in the sequel were the reason most went to this movie after the Autobots & Decepticons.
That was my reason at least. English model Rosie Huntington- Whitely is hot so It wont be so painful to watch.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Use Their Weapons
After seeing this video, I watched old turtle cartoon. I never seen the Turtles use there weapons ever. Granted they were always used in a non defensive way. I dont under stand how Ninja’s never used their weapons in a violent way.
