XXL Freshmen List 2013 | DEHH Conversation
Oh, man……….
1.) I was at the Terminal West WITH Feefo. He is right. Peeps at the A3C wasn’t feeling Kirko Bangz at that time.
2.) Chief Keef? On the list? I guess.
3.) Paying to get into this list? People actually do that? How wack is that?
4.) Schoolboy Q and Action Bronson should have been on there a while back.
5.) Of COURSE XXL is big on the tricking. Yes, they get paid for their props. It is all politics with them. We know that.
6.) This list did NOT take effort. At all. Myke C Town is correct: these lists are garbage.

Hurricane Sandy Through The Lens of @MikeShanePhoto

Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on my home town of Staten Island and all of the Tri-State area, causing extensive flooding, countless damage, and the unprecedented shutdown of New York, the likes of which no one has ever seen. This is not the whole picture, not by a long shot. This is simply one man’s perspective & experience.

ZOMG I Turned 29 Yrs Old Heres A Blog About That

How kick ass is the photo above, you gotta love the simple things that make kids smile. It really is one of the best joys in life…….
So another year has pasted 28 turns to 29, honestly the thought hasn’t set in yet. I’m a year away from 30…Yes 30. Thats kind of a miles stone for someone who still giggles at boobie jokes.
I wasn’t excited for 29, I wanted 28 to end and maybe time would allow me to just be in limbo between 28 and 29 forever. 29 is fucken scary, its the last year of your twenties. That number makes you look back and reflect on the shit you did or didn’t do. Its the age where people say your going to be 30, get off your ass, make something of yourself. This is the year that you see most of your friends getting married, pushing out some kids. All the while you date an endless surplus of twenty two year olds and other lost souls (which isn’t a total wash)

HBO Cancelled How To Make It In America & I Dont Care

Now that the pomp and circumstance has died down, about the Lower East Side cool kids struggling to make ends meet in the big city. I can say How To Make It In America was pure ass from jump. I have gotten into shows after saying they were trash and ate my words BUT I can say I never enjoyed HBO’s How To Make It In America.
HTMIIA defiantly had a target audience and demographic ANYONE WHO GOES TO STREET WEAR BLOGS!!! The writers never really highlighted the entrepreneurs and designer hustle. The plot was interesting, two twenty-somethings hustling their way through New York City’s fashion scene. The problem was they veered away from how to make “it,” HTMIIA lacked any and all substance. It’s like drinking water when your really thirsty it doesn’t quench your thirst. Its like drinking wet air just filler.
Lets face it you watched this show not for its recycled plot lines, but due to a stereotype…The niche “clothing label” you support or probably created in your bedroom. “Street” wear is out of hand now. It all looks the same and the only reason we fuck with certain brands is because this one or that one fuck with the line.
I remember when the promotion for HTMIIA started my twitter timeline was thinking this was the second coming of Entourge. I laughed out loud when I read how impressed some where with Kid Cudi’s acting….REALLY? Cudi spoke maybe ten lines in the first three episodes of season one.
The writers of How To Make It In America made the ultimate mistake, trying to make it the scenester’s Entourage. The characters didn’t have the same appeal as Vince and CO. Entourage worked because we ALL want to live vicariously through a celebrity. Not a fucken broke clothing designer and his just as broke friends. People would rather watch shows about living lavish than struggle. Why do you think the Kardashian’s are still on TV? Its not due to their bland/shitty personalities. Its because their fucken rich and go place and do things we the viewer can not afford do.
What prompted this post was a conversation with one of my twitter followers Kenan Bell. Kenan said “HTIIA did an AMAZING job at highlighting the fickle nature of the consumer as well as the media outlets.” I replied with Ooo you mean Generation me aka self-absorption.
I know a few people who are similar to the characters in HTMIIA. Some who really sacrifice to create something of substance and quality. Some who got lucky, than their are others who you really don’t know what they do for a living yet are out every night in “the scene.” Some are known for NOTHING and doing very little with out making any major contributions to the lane in which they are famous for. Than you have massive egos who think their bigger than they really are…False sense of entitlement type shit.
The show had few positives Aloe Blacc collecting a check for “I Need A Dollar”, Luiz Guzman acting circles around the entire casts, Gina Gershon and lake Bell’s boobs.
Ill just stick Psyche, White Collar, Suits, Royal Pains, Burn Notice or any other USA Network original programing. At least I know what I’m getting with USA network. The format is two people thrown together by chance become partners. One is the straight man, the other is the “wildcard”; solving crimes and exchanging witty quips.

My Memory Of Patrice O’Neal

Yesterday Patrice O’neal passed away after suffering stroke a last month. I did not know Patrice on a personal level but a few years ago I interned for The Opie and Anthony Show. Patrice O’Neal was a regular on the program. I must have seen and spoke with Patrice a dozen or so times while interning, but the memory I’m about to share sticks out in my mind.
For whatever reason there was a Liberator sex couch inside the Opie and Anthony studio. I don’t remember why O&A gave Patrice the sex couch, all I remember was Patrice asking me to help him get the Liberator to his car. Im slightly germophobic so the idea of lugging a couch with god knows what embedded in the fibers wasn’t my ideal way of earning my stripes with the show. But I did my due diligence as an intern. I remember Patrice being excited that he was going to have sex with his girl on the Liberator.
In our makeshift kitchen area were those gloves you wear when you do the dishes. I put them and we proceed to lug to the couch to the elevator making awkward eye contact with other people who work in the same building. We carried the Liberator 5 or 6 blocks to a parking garage. As we get to his truck he told me thank you and went into his pocket and pulled out ten dollars, I decline a tip and told him the experience was enough. I told him I was just starting out in radio and would like to interview him on my WSIA radio show. He gave me his number and told me to call him.
I never saw or spoke to Patrice again my internship ended 3 days later. I never did call him for that interview, but the memory of lugging the Liberator up 57th and 7th avenue is one of the best memories I have during that whole internship experience.
Patrice was super talented quick witted comedian who also had a small stint as a writer with the WWE. Below is Patrice’s first appearance on The Opie and Anthony Show.

Felonious Munk 2 for 1: Becky and Homosexuality
On this wonderful morning (which is also my anniversary for becoming a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.), I am giving you all a 2 for 1 special! The first video deals with Herman Cain and his feelings, actions, and lack of foreign policy. Then, there is the gay issue. Yes, the gay issue. There are gays in every facet of life (like Munk says). People need to get over people being gay (like

Why Entourage’s Series finale pissed me off

So I watched the series finale of “Entourage” three times…Big “Fuck you!” Entourage. Entourgae really does create a fantasy that doesn’t exist. Never in my 28 years of shenanigans have I seen EVERYTHING work out.
The conundrum lies in the emotional investment to these characters and the fact that we love the lifestyle portrayed. With no real logic magically and conveniently there’s always a happy ending. I was taught very early on in life that there are fuckin consequences to actions. For the entire run of this series consequences never existed.
From unbelievable career offers to becoming millionaires; this show has no consequences for movie stars or their posse. Vince, who’s been out of rehab for what feels like 8 days smokes a joint, witnesses a suicide, beats a drug test with a fake dick, flirts shamelessly throughout an interview that should hurt his career and winds up happy as can be.
E bangs his ex’s Mother-in-Law, yet winds up with Sloan despite making no attempt for a possible amends or humbling himself in any way to show some sort of growth since her absence.
Turtle is a huge fuck, up yet winds up with millions of dollars because his smarter rich friend bought his shares in a tequila company. Johnny finally gets a job, then goes on strike to get his co host Andrew Dice Clay more money. He’s told his strike has ended the show, but it was a bluff as they BOTH go back immediately and make the movie his famous brother wants to produce.
REALITY CHECK this show creates a type of lifestyle most will never achieve. Even fuckin relationships work out on “Entourage”. Vince; smitten with Journalist Sophia and her British accent decides he wants to marry this broad after one date. Who needs a second date or days of texting…shitty chemistry conquers all huh? The hot knocked up multi millionaires daughter (Sloan) waits by the plane for the man who fucked her step, step, step mother and gives E another chance. Ari; who for years is unattentive to both his wife and kids reconciles with Mrs. Ari…Of course the wife goes back the husband after Ari gives up the only career he knows. Lets eat on love…LOVE DONT PAY BILLS STUPID! Thank you Entourage for spoon-feeding me the constant message: love conquers all.
Does it really? I was left with my dick in my hand labor day weekend after making another failed attempted with a girl who constantly flip flopped and used the past as a crutch because she wanted out.
So the type of forgiveness Sloan and Mrs. Ari gave does not exist in the real world. I wish I can jet set to Paris…well not Paris…matter fact, FUCK Pairs! The ex wants to go there, so fuck Paris and fuck her!…starry eyed dreamer who romanticized about living in Paris. With what money are you living in Paris with? News flash asshole you don’t speak French we’d starve and die cold. I’m lucky I’ve went as far as Union City, New Jersey with that dunce.
I wish life was that perfect, where I had the funds to pick up and go and know I’m always going to have the love of my life hanging off my arm. God damn you “Entourage” for making me feel even worse than I have felt for weeks. I’m sorry a 28 minute series finale caused this rant…. FUCK IT…NO IM NOT.
