A$AP Boston

A$AP Rocky and the ASAP Mob came to my neck of the woods, Boston on Monday. And although I am posting this footage from the show of my favorite song “Trilla” I must say its no where near close to describing how incredibly LIVE, HYPE and TRILL this show was sheeeeshhh. I felt like I was at an Odd Future concert thats how wild it got; straight crowd surfing and elbow mobbing. Im still in aw, no joke. The whole ASAP gang puts on for Harlem you can just feel it and see all from their stage presence. An A$AP show is a must attend. Thank me later when and if you ever do go to one.

P.S. A$AP will be at Irving Place tonight, be there if it ain’t already sold out.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys – Webisode 3 Big Jam Takeover

As the holiday season came to a close Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI hosted their very own big jam which featured some of our favorite artists such as Young Jeezy, Wale, Miguel, Ace Hood and more. One of MY favorite groups the L.E.P. Bogus Boys were invited as the only independent artists (pretty big deal) to grace the stage and this latest video from Count and Moonie follows the duo behind the scenes, as they make their way to the arena, sit down for interviews with WGCI and MTV, kick it backstage with Wale and Jeremih, and take the stage to perform for a packed – and rabid – crowd of hometown supporters.

Action Bronson review by Dead End Hip Hop

My homies at Dead End Hip Hop gave their thoughts on Action Bronson’s Well Done. You already know how I feel about this album (and if not, then here you go). Yet, it is always refreshing to hear their perspectives on what they like, dislike, and ignore. Peep them here and buy the album. The Albanian Rap Chef deserves your dollars.

Atmosphere feat. Kill The Vultures, Big Quarters and Mally – Somebody, MN

In referenced to their tour called Welcome To Minnesota (which starts in February), the crew has released this song. It is a departure from their present work in tone and production. This is more throwback hip hop sound. Real mellow and jazzy. Straight up lyricism. A dope departure, my good people. A dope departure. I hope their tour is successful.

Common Freestyle – EZ Street Show

Common freestyles for the EZ Street Show. DJ Gemini is on the 1s and 2s. Uhm, Common is damn near 40 and still has it. Real hip hop has no age limit. That is all. Buy his album next week. Support great music.

Frank Ocean x Coldplay = Swinging Strawberries

We all know that on Nostalgia Ultra, Frank Ocean redid “Strawberry Swing”. Yet, it begs the question: who had the better song. And no, just because one artists was the originator doesn’t mean they made the better song. That’s like saying the T-Model Ford is better than a Honda.

The original:

The “remake”:

Casey Veggies Swags Out Boston

Sir Young Veggies and the Peas and Carrots pod came through and swagged Boston all the way out for the first time while on the Blue Slide Park tour! Lucky us, no really, we hardly get any love from west coast artists but I blame it solely on Boston. We’re getting better though at welcoming new artists, I must say. Anyways back to the veggie set, above is some deluxe footage of Casey’s in store signing at Laced Boston, performance and a smooth interview. Visuals courtesy of the god, Ezekiel Phillips. Enjoy. Wave. Swag. Chop. Peace to Anwar and Joshton. Swag.

Lupe Fiasco Ain’t A Friend Of Any People

Well, that’s how I feel about it. His music has gotten worse. Yeah, he has the right to experiment. Of course, he can do what he want to do. However, he is becoming more and more…of an artist that is inconsistent and flaky. Glad that I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Evitan (Dres x Jairobi) – P.T.I. (Occupy Wall Street)

Evitan = Native backwards. Just in case you were confused, these two Native Tongue transplants choose to band together to make some cool music. This is actually good. I wonder what the rest of their collab has to offer. I hope its dope.

Lykke Li – Youth Knows No Pain

Above we’re given Swedish beauty Lykke Li performing a live acoustic version of one of her standout tracks from her album Wounded Ryhmes. Her voice is undeniably one of the most unique and talented, I’ve come across in the past 2 years and it’s evident in this setting that she’s provided.
