Tupac’s dead but Tupac is also back…..Sorta. While I was in a sleep induced coma thanks to my sinus infection, I missed Tupac’s performed over this past weekend at the Coachella music festival. Pac’s life performance was in hologram form.
I know this disappoints all the conspiracy theorists out there thinking this would be the year Pac would return and what better platform to do so than at Coachella. Watching Pac’s I got goosbumps. No bullshit. Seeing someone who has been dead for 16 years walk on stage like it was nothing kinda shocks the system. When Pac said what the fuck is good Coachella my reaction was what the fuck, It spooked the shit out of me, it felt real.
It was bittersweet, growing up I was a huge Tupac fan, I think all who are my age where and still are. We saw the live show and how his life played out. While this was great as a fan, you also realize damn dude died at 25 and had a life time to grow as an artist.
Other than the fact Pac wouldn’t be caught dead on stage with Dre at the time of his passing, this was pretty cool. I like the way his chain moved around his neck and his mannerisms were spot on. But some of the interactions where awkward but thats to be expected. Since he is dead and was in the form of a hologram.
I will tell you this in the next few years Holograms will have artificial intelligence or maybe holograms will be like Al from Quantum Leap. Who knows whats to come but its kinda rad to think about the possibilities.
I wonder what established and new artist especially rappers who have these buzz’s that die out after 2 years think, That a hologram just gave them a harsh reality check.
