Ok, I have no horse in this race I’m just gonna put my opinion out there, you can either read it and rub your chin inquisitively or flip me off and that’ll be that. Tangent.
Anyway, I haven’t been watching WWE Monday Night Raw; but I’ve heard some things regarding the Brock Lesnar/HHH feud. Apparently HBK was to be in Hunter’s corner to counteract Paul Heyman in Brock Lesnar’s (which totally seems fair to me; WWE HOF’er, Grand Slam champion, and all his nicknames vs outta shape manager and ex-wrestling promoter). Well that selling point was to be a tease as Brock broke Shawn’s arm; rendering him incapacitated during the PPV. So now what?
Hunter needs someone in his corner…who better than Dad? “Former” CEO Vince McMahon has been seen and used sporadically, hed be a nice addition to this main event not only for his own drawing power, but because in storylines, he and his family and company loathe the slimy Heyman. …here’s the twist…what better shock finish than to have Vince turn on his son-in-law; defacto head of his own company who also happens to be the man relieving his pop of his job?
Who would ever invision Vince, WWE CEO side with the self proclaimed “Messiah of ECW” Paul Heyman? Probably no one; except of course if it allowed Vinnie Mac to get his grips around his baby (not Shane); the WWE Universe itself once more. Now that my friends is a swerve.
But why? Ok, I’ll tell you why…the road to Wrestlemania no longer begins at the Royal Rumble, but the day after the previous Mania and anywhere in between. Slimy Mr. McMahon and slimier Paul Heyman united, ruling the WWE Universe and all its Superstars; with of course Brock Lesnar as it enforcer. Imagine the hell itd be for Superstars showing up to work on Monday.
Someone has to stand up to this consortium…but who? Cena; Mr. WWE (whether the fans like it or not)? Rock; the (part time but) unbelievably over SuperDuperstar? Undertaker; The Phenom who has just as much to give up in his streak as he does to gain in defending the company he’s been the cornerstone of for over two decades? Or could be, possibly, CM Punk; the man who strives to become all of the above.
Whoever it is, should this play out as stated; its gonna be one hell of a Wrestlemania main event in 2013 with a lot more than a belt on the line. I’m just sayin.
