For starters, it is nice graduating from college with honors and secondly being around a laptop to type once again. These last couple of weeks has been exhilarating, stressful, and productive, but now I can talk about what I love most: Wrestling. Off the heels of WWE’s most recent pay-per-view, Extreme Rules, the aftermath show of Raw last night was full of fun and weird booking.

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri (almost exactly 14 years to the date where Owen Hart tragically fell to his death, RIP), Raw was absent with both of their world champions. Yet, it was present with a whole lot of good wrestling and interesting moments. So without further ado, I bring back the Three Points:

1. The Shield vs. Team Hell No and Kofi Kingston

This was my favorite part of the show by far for a number of reasons. The Shield had finally made a bigger stamp in the promotion by winning championship gold at Extreme Rules, with Dean Ambrose securing the United States Title and Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns winning the Tag Championship against Team Hell No. They faced their respective opponents in an excellent six-man tag last night that not only showcased how far the trio has grown into their role as a well-oiled machine, but it showed how over this program really was due to the top-notch booking.

Daniel Bryan is a treasure to behold and Kane continues to be one of the most underrated workers in the WWE today (along with being a well-verse political mind). I recommend everyone to check out this match to get a glimpse on how these six men are putting on some of the best matches in a WWE Ring today.

2. Fandango Making Everyone An Enemy

The opening tag match on Raw featured the new IWC sensation, Fandango team with Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett against The Miz and Chris Jericho. During the match however, Fandango didn’t want to get himself dirty and proceeded to dance with his valet Summer Rae at ringside, leaving Barrett to fend for himself to take the L against the mighty-mouthed tandem. The events during and after the match lead me to believe that they are setting up a Fatal-4-Way for the IC Title at their upcoming Payback PPV.

3. Big E Getting Big Wins

While Dolph Ziggler continues to recover from a concussion, his ally Big E. Langston scored a victory over the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title, Alberto Del Rio. This looks to be the start of Langston’s push towards a major singles run as Money In The Bank is two months away. It gives the WWE ample amount of time to build Big E as a credible threat to win the MITB Ladder Match and tease dissension between himself and Ziggler as his World Title reign continues. I like his look and he has the charisma to be a great monster face as shown on NXT. I’m all for it.

Honorable Mention: No Cena….

Three Points That Just Blew:

1. “You Think He’s Fucking Tough???”

Those were the words uttered by Titus O’Neil during his match with Sheamus live on camera. If this was 1998, O’Neil would get away with this no problem. But the Attitude Era is over and WWE is set on making this a PG-oriented show. I really don’t know how much this will affect O’Neil’s status in the long run, as the match was set to make him look good against a main eventer. I do know he’s gonna at least receive a tongue lashing and some doghouse work. And I’m tired of seeing my brothers in the doghouse.

2. Ryback Steiner

It’s already enough that we get Goldberg comparisons on Ryback, but coupled with the ambulance sirens and a graining promo that makes you cringe with laughter, he can be Steiner on the mic. No one will be as great with nonsensical interviews and quotables as Big Poppa Pump (Sorry Warrior), but Ryback did his absolute best last night with some of the worst microphone work I have heard from him. He did get something accomplished in announcing there will be an Ambulance Match between him and Cena at Payback. I guess that’s an A for effort.

3. The New Paul Heyman Guy is a…Triple H Guy?

Okay, I’m not all against Joe Henning/Curtis Axel getting repackaged and paired up with Paul Heyman as his manager. I always found him to be a decent in-ring worker, though not as great as his father and his look was passable. I just don’t see him tipping the cusp as a main event superstar (which isn’t bad), and therefore I hope there are more clients on the horizon for Heyman to put over and dominate with during the summer. One of the main reasons why Axel is getting this opportunity over..let’s say Kassius Ohno or Leo Kruger is that Triple H is high on him. So much so, that Hunter had his first Raw match in three years against him only to make Axel an afterthought.

I’m not saying that this will fail, but there are many in the audience aren’t buying Axel as a credible threat. Then again, Dolph Ziggler was part of the Spirit Squad.

That’s all I have about my thoughts with Raw, which was a good episode with a weak ending, a weird intro, and solid middle.

Goodie Mob will be dropping their collective LP “Age Against The Machine” August 27th. This is their lead single featuring Ms. Janelle big hair Monae. It’s a smooth song with a message behind it…kinda corny, but cool.

Props for Loaded Lux for organizing this one. Solid posse cut, Method Man and Redman come with it on the Remix to “Rite”. Who had the best 16? Let us know in the comment section.

West Coast OG Ras Kass tries his hand at a club banger with this “Upscale Ratchet” joint…Can’t say i’m feeling it. Rather uninspired and Ras sounds way out of his element, Vanilla Ice flow damn near. This comes off his “Barmageddon” project.

The only complaint about this song is that I wish it was longer. Other than that, I dig it very, very much. Nipsey does his thing. He gets to relating everyday hustling, grinding, and whatnot to life in itself. He recognizes the situations around him. Yet, he isn’t unaware of his true worth or responsibility. This is dope.

Im not an Odd Future mark but this is the first single off the production duo’s upcoming album The JellyFish Mentality, releasing this Friday on oddfuture.com.

I like this. The production is a nice mixture of West Coast funk and southern country rap tunes. Plus, it has 2 out of 3 artists I respect. I know all about Chevy Woods. But Chevy needs to step outta Wiz’s shadow and make that music that will get Chevy noticed.
