Most kids dream of winning super bowl rings or world series, I wanted to be World Wrestling Federation champion. I grew up in an era when it wasn’t call WWE. (If your a wrestling fan you of its awesome)
To me it was the best job ever. Honestly the winged eagle title is the greatest version of the WWF/E title. Maybe due in part to the legends who held it and it wasn’t that many I think 14. Starting with Randy Savage & ending with Steve Austin. (a select few had repeat reigns.) The WCW big gold belt is in distant second as being one of the best belts ever fandom…IMO.
I think why I love this belt is because its attached to my childhood. My most fond memories are attached with watching wrestling. This is before monday nights were a staple in wrestling I’m going back to Saturdays and Sundays on channel 5 eating sandwiches on Italian bread and seeing my dad go ham over the story lines.
I wanted to be a the WWF wrestling champion. That job is better than president. Like Hip hop its a business difficult to break into it takes hard work, massive amounts of dues need to be paid & you need to work your ass off. I have a few friends who do wrestle for a living, I tip my hat every time. It truly is one of the entertaining sights to see when my friends who are talented really have the crowd in the palm of there hands. I wish them nothing but success & health.
So a few days ago my scum brother M_Dot_ Salvione caught me by susprise and gave me the same championship belt I always wanted to win. Let’s keep it honest my athletic ability is non existent. Now I have the belt so I don’t have to wear the spandex and punish you folks by showing my chicken legs.
I was am/still am at a loss for words. The gesture of friendship & gift was very powerful. Out of all the birthday gift I received in the past 28 yrs this is by far # 1 in a top 10. Thank you Mike for making 8 year old Emilio Sparks mark out
I think I will wear this title during my radio show and when I do live interview creeping out my guest even more than I do now….
