You don’t need big arenas or top of the line production values to have great wrestling. Sometimes the best matches are performed in front of 100 people. Take Chikara for example. They don’t have a huge budget or super large crowds, but they still put on a good show. This match is a perfect example of that. Chris Hero and Mike Quackenbush are two of the most praised performers in the wrestling industry, and treat every venue the same. It’s all about hard work. Quackenbush and Hero have wrestled numerous times before, but this particular bout is a straight up grudge match. Their friendly rivalry was over by this point. Chikara history was also made on this night, as it was the first time the “Chikara Special” hold was ever applied in a match. Enjoy quality wrestling.

Interview with Chikara’s Eddie Kingston! Free Chikara tickets!

Our series of Chikara interviews continues with Eddie Kingston, who talks about his experiences as a professional wrestler. Regarded as “the last of a dying breed,” Kingston is a veteran of Chikara, and has been in some of the most important matches in the company’s history. Here, he talks about his first foray into wrestling, his upcoming trip to Japan for Osaka Pro Wrestling, the late Larry Sweeney, the longtime rivalry with Chris Hero, and more. While vicious in the ring, Eddie Kingston comes across as a pretty cool guy. You definitely don’t want to get on his bad side though. Unless you want a spinning back fist to the face.

Chikara Ticket Giveaway! Jakob Hammermeier Interview!
We love Chikara and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for their upcoming Young Lions Cup show on August 27th. The 9th annual Young Lions Cup tournament is Chikara’s longest running tradition, and it’s gonna be a big one this year with sixteen competitors. If you haven’t gotten tickets for it, here’s your chance. And they’re free! Chikara is American Lucha-Libre with great bouts and lots of laughs. It’s the best thing in the world.

Jakob Hammermeier, a competitor for the Young Lions Cup championship, called in during the Emilio Sparks Experience to shed some light on the tournament and his stable, the Bruderschaft Des Kreuzes. Formerly only known as the injury prone ring announcer for the BDK, Hammermeier has recently stepped up his duties to become a wrestler as well. He’s running roughshod allover Chikara. Check out the interview to find out more about Jakob Hammermeier, as he prepares for the Young Lions Cup tournament.

Dragon Dragon: The Only Real Dragon in Wrestling
Dragon Dragon was one of wrestling’s all time greats. At 8’2, he was the tallest competitor of Chikara. But for a Dragon of his size, his agility was extraordinary. Trained in Lucha Libre, Dragon Dragon flew across the ring and dominated his opponents with arm drags, dragon screws, and the feared Yoshi Tail Sweep. Unfortunately, our beloved Dragon has since retired from the squared circle. He currently resides in Dragon’s Lair, Arkansas and uses his past earnings from the sport to support his Dragon family.

Ice Cream Jr. feels the pain of sprinkles
For those of you who have never seen CHIKARA wrestling, seriously your missing out. In this clip below Ice Cream Jr one half of Los Ice Creams pulls Mick Foley (foley would pull out a bag of thumbtacks and start spreading it all over the ring). Ice Cream Jr does something similar and it’s sprinkles!!! Watch how he sells the sprinkles like there thumbtacks. Equinox gives Ice Cream Jr. a hurricarana and a standing shooting star press onto sprinkles. He was rolling around and writhing in pain. Its HILARIOUS
