Andy Suzuki & The Method happen to be one of my latest musical obsessions. I stumbled across this once hidden gem of a group a couple of months ago and since then they’ve been on a non-stop incline. Above, we’re given a cover of Drake’s popular single with the New York skyline as a backdrop, check it out and if you like what you hear head over to their website and get lost in the music.
The home Sid returns with a refreshing cover of a song we all know and love but gives it such a unique twist it kind of takes my breath away. Shout out to Sid for the way he ended the cover too, definitely heard the Indian (big up) influences.
Toronto band BadBadNotGood is known for their instrumental takes on “hot songs”. Meaning: if there is a song that they like, they do it in instrumental form. Peso, in this form, sounds like sonic genius. I have to give it up to them. They are fantastic at what they do. Listen for yourself and see.
I’m throughly fascinated by Ceresia’s outfit. Directed by the very talented Joe Puma, the songstress/MC gives us her version of Drake’s popular single Headlines. Ceresia definitely holds her own in her rendition and i’m excited to hear more from her in the coming future. You can download/stream the single below!
My goodness, Neon Hitch just made my night. No Hands is my jammie jam but Neon Hitch manages to give this song such a unique twist I actually forgot that it was a Wake cover. Pretty dope stuff, i’m throughly impressed!
Over the past year I’ve fallen in love with Sid’s voice. He’s done cover after cover with impeccable talent and he shows no signs of stopping. This time around he’s backed by a small orchestrated band which only amplifies his amazing talent. Directed by Sergio Ensico; check of Sid Sriram’s take on Amazing.
Sid Sriram is one of my new favorite discoveries within the past year. I legitimately get super excited when he drops new material because it’s such a breath of fresh air to hear someone with such natural talent. This time around Sid covers my favorite song of The Weeknd’s High For This and does a GREAT job; probably the best cover I’ve heard so far. Arranged & Produced By Sid Sriram and Arthur Johnson support my homie and check out this up and coming star!
Hopefully by now you guys must know that I have an imaginary love affair with Mayer Hawthorne. He’s that quirky white guy you just can’t help but love. He’s currently on tour with the very talented boys of Chromeo so a cover of their infectious song When The Night Falls is a great way to start rumors and requests for a future collaboration between the two! Keeping Mayer’s signature sound partnered with Chromeo’s synthetic beats this cover is quite the unique twist. I’m loving it!
This little gem of a cover has been circulating the internet for a couple of days now so for the 3 of you who haven’t seen it yet…you are welcome. Also don’t make any prejudgments based on the fact that this broad bares a striking resemblance to Katy Perry, she’s indeed Fresher Than A Mug.
