21-7 Magazine Interviews Kendrick Lamar

It’s been a while since we heard from the 21-7 Magazine crew but they’re back with a fresh new interview with Compton’s pyru, Kendrick Lamar. Press play to listen as Kendrick speaks on being crowned King of the West by Snoop Dogg, his Black Hippy movement, talks with Mos Def and Dr. Dre, and his goals.

I’m gonna really tell the story of how a good kid was in a bad state… I held a lot of things back in interviews and in my music because I want to share it on a bigger scale.

Clear Soul Forces – Get No Better

This is the type of stuff I grew up on: easily lyrical and soothing at the same time. I can’t get enough of this. Plus, they are from Detroit, too? Produced by KanKick, this song is a pure winner. Hip hop will never die. Period.

Flatbush Zombies – Thug Waffle

If you like waffles, handfuls of greenage, gold fangs, close up shots of guys with flawless skin and white teeth and Flatbush is what you’re reppin’, than you might want to press play on this new video from Flatbush Zombies. It’s okay if you don’t know what thug waffles means, I don’t either. It’s the beat that gets me going. Shoutout to Erick Arc Elliot for the banger. Man waffles never looked so good. Where’s the hot syrup at?

Credits: Luke Monaghan, Tone, Vincent Picone, P. Annand (Clean work fellas)

Dead End Hip Hop Presents…DEMOS Documentary: Inside Look

Dead End Hip Hop (the big homies) got to reach out to Kareem Fort about his recent documentary called Demos. It is a how-to guide for up and coming independent artists that are trying to make things happen in the musical world. He basically waxes poetic about realizing the reasons you want to be in the industry, meeting DJ Quik, chillin’ with Terrace Martin, and the wisdom that helped made this documentary happen. I guess I need to take the time out and see what this documentary is all about. There are plenty of featured artists that I am a fan of.

Mos Def Is Changing His Name For No Good Reason

Effective in 2012, Mos Def wants you to call him Yasiim. Huh? But why? He says Mos Def is his street name and he’s over with that chapter of his life. Is this the worst idea ever? I guess this is what hip-hop is all about. Stupid name changes. Does Sean Combs ring a bell? Head on over to Daps.tv for the full article!

My Umi said change my fucking name to some Islam shit

TheDummy Presents: Q&A With Juno

Juno, is his name creating mix tapes, fucking bitches, and ripping through bars is just a little game he likes to play. With many singles under his belt, a newly released mix tape titled “Sleeping With Demons,” a team you would kill for, and a mind out of this world I find him fascinating. Yes he’s your everyday teenage boy next door, going to school, hanging out with the homies, and looking for bad broads to bone but theirs more to him than just that. In those few ways he might be ordinary but inside the booth, and on paper he’s more like extraordinary.
