Jay Rock – YOLA (video)

And there you have it. Jay Rock has a video that goes as hard ad the rhymes he spits. TDE is not falling off anytime soon. If you think so, think again. They are only getting stronger and stronger. Just get used to it.

Jay Rock – Yola (single)

TDE keeps winning. Jay Rock is coming with some heat. I don’t know if this is for a new album or not. What I do know is that if Jay comes with this type of energy on a new project then he will gain even more respect. Well that and TDE would have taken over a portion of hip hop.

Ab Soul feat. the rest of TDE – Black Lip Bastard (remix)

One of the best albums this year gets a video feature for the last song on the album. I am really enjoying this. I could go on and on. But I’m not. Just enjoy the video.

Strong Arm Steady Ft Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul & Jay Rock – Fair Fight

Strong Arm Steady and Black Hippy over a beat by Statik Selektah is HIP HOP. Statik is pound for pound the best in the game to do it. This track knocks support the joint venture between Strong Arm and Statik “Stereotype” album.

Ab-Soul feat. Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q & Jay Rock – Black Lip Bastard (rmx)

Well, I guess this is the last drop from this album. Dope ass posse cut, by the way. They all do what they do best. Expect nothing less but what they do. Oh, and please take time to understand what the artwork really means. Its the Kabbalah Tree of Life, not the Illuminati.

BET CYPHERS!!!!

Here are some of the BET Cyphers gearing up for this weekend’s festivities (or whatever) that are taking place for the BET Hip Hop Awards. What I found interesting is that Mike Epps joined in the end of the second cypher and did pretty solid. Whatever the case may be, people need to know some of these artists. These artists are making noise. Might as well watch them in a cypher, right?

Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, & Freddie Gibbs on MTV RapFix Live

Ah, watching these two on MTV Rapfix with Sway makes my heart smile. Two of the most humble young MCs out right now and two of the most talented. Tonight Gibbs will be performing at the FADER & Vitamin Water event in NYC alongside BIG K.R.I.T. who was just nominated for three BET awards! Up top the XXL Freshmen past and present touch a number of topics too many to type out; I advise you press play and take in what these men have to say.

Jay Rock feat. Kendrick Lamar – Code Red

Black Hippy is still here, people. After releasing his debut album with Strange Music, Jay Rock has been non stop. Now that I look at the dynamic of Black Hippy, I am glad they are comprised the way they are. Jay Rock is hard core. Kendrick is super lyrical and introspective. Ab Soul is extra soulful in his hood glory. Schoolboy Q is the king of “the fuck shit” (meaning- good weed, good women, and having the time of his life). I get it, y’all. I get it.

Jay Rock – Boomerang

This is a nice song for the (sexual) appreciation of the virtuous female. Yet, it still comes off as hood as ever. I’m not sure how good, or great, Jay Rock’s new album is. However, I do know that I have to get a copy for myself. I am really enjoying how he came on this song. It is catchy and the production is snap-mixed-with-West Coast.

Jay Rock- Just Like Me

I am glad Jay Rock has found a situation to put out his music. Now that he is signed to Strange, his career is looking that much brighter. Oh, he may not sell a whole bunch of units per se. However, with Strange, he will move some independent units, go on tour, and make some money. Plus, he’s affiliated with two of the strongest domineering people in hip hop right now (Tech N9ne and Kendrick Lamar). Coming from his album Follow Me Home.
