My dad thought the name of the song was called Asshole, when I said no its called Kanye West my dad response was isn’t that the same thing.

Misanthropik One speaks on Vinnie Paz and his “issues”

Well, this is something that caught me off guard. Someone actually speaking out against Vinnie and his “issues” with Kanye and any other rapper he doesn’t like. It is cool to actually think that some of these other rappers are not your cup of tea. That is understandable. However, obsessively speaking against another artist only makes you look small. As a man, you shouldn’t constantly say something about another man for YEARS unless they tried to hinder your life. Click below to watch his video on album reviews for Esham, Bronze Nazareth, and Elzhi.

Dead End Hip Hop | Webisode 34: Carter IV vs. The Throne

This debate became so heated in such little time. It went from trying to understand how a critcally bashed album (for the most part) sold so many records….to a debate about whether or not Jay-Z/Kanye even care about not selling more than Wayne. All egos aside, I don’t think they truly care. For one, their music is superior. For another thing, there is the understanding that you can’t expect to sell as much as you used to in this dirty game.

Game of Thrones- Editorial

Hiphopdx.com unleashed an editorial dealing with sales, hip hop albums, and how the quality of music usually occurs within those parameters. There was a lot of truth introduced in this article:

*Out of the 44 albums deemed a classic by The Source, only a few of them were big sellers. Many went platinum (eventually), but for the most part, they didn’t bring in blockbuster numbers

* Album sales have more to do with mass appeal than musical quality.

* A lot of the top selling hip hop albums over the last decade weren’t “classic”. Many were really good. A couple were “eh”.

It is just one of those articles that clear up the air about the meaning behind sales.

Video: Amazing by Kanye West (Sid Sriram Cover)

Over the past year I’ve fallen in love with Sid’s voice. He’s done cover after cover with impeccable talent and he shows no signs of stopping. This time around he’s backed by a small orchestrated band which only amplifies his amazing talent. Directed by Sergio Ensico; check of Sid Sriram’s take on Amazing.

Big Sean featuring Kanye West & Roscoe Dash – Marvin & Chardonnay

This is one of my favorite tracks off Big Sean’s Finally Famous (which is in stores and on iTunes now if you’ve been sleeping under a rock). There aren’t many positive things I can say about Roscoe Dash BUT I can say that he does his thing on this track as well as Kanye. Hype Williams directed the colorful video which depicts the trio having a good time with some pretty broads.

Watch The Throne….chopped and screwed…never slopped and subdued…

What makes a great chopped and screwed album? First of all, it needs to be mixed very well. Second of all, it needs to be slowed down so either the promethyzene, purp, patron, or codeine that is in your system slows you down to recognize the essence of the aesthetic within your auditory canals. Third, having an OG Ron C stamp of approval should guarantee that it is worth the download. Disagree? Peep this out and tell me what you REALLY think. Watch the Throne may not be the classic everyone hoped for. However, it is still a seminal piece of art.

Kanye West Debuts Newest Colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 at MTV VMAs

I cant lie I think the Air Yeezy’s are a nice shoe, the design is very appealing. Would I pay the absurd price NO DICE. If you search on any sneaker re-seller website a pair of Yeezy’s go for a stack. I do fuck with the shoe I just cant see the logic in the price and the uber limited run if footlocker gets them I will consider a purchase. The good folks over at Swagger Junky have some information and the Yeezy’s:

Kanye West (while performing OTIS on the 2011 VMA’s) debuts the newest colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy II’s. The model features a Zen upper with a glow in the dark sole and solar red lining.

JumpOff TV and Watch The Throne

Now THIS is a conversation that goes a long way. It isn’t off the mark like some of their other debates have been because they actually deal with the facts instead of pure feelings. And ole girl was right: we as listeners expect them to scream their pain, but whisper their success. There is also the issue that Watch The Throne actually makes a lot of social commentary. Like I always say: sometimes people focus on the wrong things.

Oh, and I still don’t think it is a classic. Then again, we won’t really know until years from now.
