I cant lie I think the Air Yeezy’s are a nice shoe, the design is very appealing. Would I pay the absurd price NO DICE. If you search on any sneaker re-seller website a pair of Yeezy’s go for a stack. I do fuck with the shoe I just cant see the logic in the price and the uber limited run if footlocker gets them I will consider a purchase. The good folks over at Swagger Junky have some information and the Yeezy’s:
Kanye West (while performing OTIS on the 2011 VMA’s) debuts the newest colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy II’s. The model features a Zen upper with a glow in the dark sole and solar red lining.
Now THIS is a conversation that goes a long way. It isn’t off the mark like some of their other debates have been because they actually deal with the facts instead of pure feelings. And ole girl was right: we as listeners expect them to scream their pain, but whisper their success. There is also the issue that Watch The Throne actually makes a lot of social commentary. Like I always say: sometimes people focus on the wrong things.
Oh, and I still don’t think it is a classic. Then again, we won’t really know until years from now.
The Misanthropik One gives his 2cents about this album. The only problem I have with the review is that it is broken up into two parts. That means I have to wait for the other part. Yet and still, I respect his viewpoints and opinions. What he says tends to be worthwhile.
With an understanding of how monumental this album is, Cookin’ Soul took their own rendition of the song. Mind you, there are so many mixed reviews on the album as a whole. Still, anything from Cookin’ Soul is a good look. I am wondering when they will get that major look from a major artist. Oh, well. Wishful thinking is always everlasting.
Yes, this is the video that they have to show that they are on point. Yes, I love the album. No, I don’t care what you think about it. You don’t like it? Don’t buy it. It is STILL a hot album despite not being a classic. Meanwhile, they have taken over Itunes and now they will take over MTV and Youtube shortly. People will love. People will hate. But many will still miss the message that is within Watch The Throne.
Sad to say, but this JumpOff TV debate was rather worthless.
How in hell do people think that Watch The Throne will negatively affect Frank Ocean’s career? Cause he “skipped steps”? What steps did he skip? The man was signed early on in his career and it didn’t pan out. He released Nostalgia Ultra AND The Lonnie Breaux Collection (which spans 3 burned CD’s in my car). They failed to mention that last tidbit, though.
Now people recognize his worth. What steps did he skip? They don’t think he released enough material? That is irrelevant.
Drake didn’t succeed because he kept releasing music. Drake succeeded cause his album had some fucking hits regardless of what others felt about Wheelchair Jimmy. All he needs is one hit and a relevant, dope album that people will love, skipped steps or not. THERE IS NO DEFINED ROUTE TO STARDOM.
I think some of these people talk to hear themselves talk.
Affion Crockett is one hilarious thespian. I am hoping that his show is a big hit. His Youtube videos are hilarious. His spoofs are funny because he is always dead on with his mockery and imitations. Maybe it is his time to make some classic material that goes mainstream (at leas somewhat) to feed him and his family even more. I salute you, Affion!
During her latest tour, Swedish indie-pop artist Lykke Li has been performing a mash up of Youth Knows No Pain, with Kanye West’s Power. It makes for a very surreal concert experience. Check it out.
Lykke Li and Kanye West are no strangers to each other, as they collaborated on a track in the past. In 2009, the hip hop duo, N.A.S.A released their single Gifted, featuring West, Li, and Santogold. You can listen to that here.
Funk Flex dropped this yesterday and had our complete attention for a straight 25 minutes, giving attention to each quotable which I have to say are scattered throughout this entire song. When I first heard Otis Redding was used as a sample for WTT, I couldn’t be more excited. Otis happens to be my favorite soul singer and hopefully after hearing this song, you’ll be urged to check out his discography. There can only ever be one Otis, and his voice, his demeanor, his entire being will always be one of the greatest soul singers to ever live. Anyways, check it out for yourself. It does NOT disappoint and has me even more excited for the released of the highly anticipated album!
