A$AP Boston

A$AP Rocky and the ASAP Mob came to my neck of the woods, Boston on Monday. And although I am posting this footage from the show of my favorite song “Trilla” I must say its no where near close to describing how incredibly LIVE, HYPE and TRILL this show was sheeeeshhh. I felt like I was at an Odd Future concert thats how wild it got; straight crowd surfing and elbow mobbing. Im still in aw, no joke. The whole ASAP gang puts on for Harlem you can just feel it and see all from their stage presence. An A$AP show is a must attend. Thank me later when and if you ever do go to one.

P.S. A$AP will be at Irving Place tonight, be there if it ain’t already sold out.

Charizma/Peanut Butter Wolf: Talk About a Girl

You ever hear a song so cool that you have to play over and over again? This is one of ‘em. Definitely a track for fans of 90′s hip hop, or good music in general. Just listen, and feel good. Rest in peace, Charizma.

Shout out to homegurl @tehmarsvolta for showing me this.
And if you’re interested in the whole Big Shots album, get it at Stones Throw.

New Music Video: Freddie Gibbs, Do Wrong Pt.2

Freddie Gibbs is the man right now. Check out his new video for Do Wrong Part 2 off the recently released Str8 Killa EP. Critics have been giving the EP rave reviews for the past few weeks. It’s definitely worth checking out. Gibbs’ style of hip hop is more reminiscent of 90′s rap, but that’s no slight in his case. He’s a positive throwback to that time in music. Watch the video to see why.

A B.I.G Birthday

May 21, 2010 would have been the 38th birthday of a music legend. He was one of the greatest MC’s of all time, and they called him Biggie Smalls. Happy Birthday, Notorious B.I.G.

Birthdays were the worst days. Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay.”

Joe Budden gets punched by Raekwon crew member

Joe Budden can’t catch a break, but he sure knows how to catch a punch right to the eye. According to dodgerhightop.com and a slew of other hip hop sources, Budden was backstage with Mickey Factz, filming a video blog at last nights Rock The Bells show in Los Angeles, when Raekwon and his crew approached him. After hostile words were shared, one of Raekwon’s friends punched Budden in the eye. It all stems from the recent beef between Joe and  Method Man, and this specific video.

While Budden turned his camera off before the attack, Raekwon was accompanied by Ice Water TV, who recorded the whole thing. Perhaps footage of the actual punch will surface the internet at a later time. The following videos cover the aftermath of the altercation and Budden’s reaction, as well as a retelling of the incident by Mickey Factz.

No official word on the behalf of Raekwon just yet, but there will no doubt be more to this story coming soon. Earlier today, Joe seemed to be in good spirits and made light of the situation via Twitter.

At least he has a sense of humor.
