Watch The Wu Tang Clan’s GZA Rap About Science

Why do we get to experience the awesomeness of hearing Gza rap about science? Because the rapper is part of a new program that is encouraging New York City public schools to use hip hop as a tool to teach science. Pretty cool.

GZA Talks Chess w/ FADER (Video)

The Genius speaks briefly about his interest in the game of Chess with Felipe from FADER at the Chess Forum in NYC. I never played chess, the only chess match I ever watched was Screech vs Russian exchange student Peter Breznev in Bayside’s annual chess championship against Valley.

Side Note; No shots to Felipe but put a little umph in to your presentation as a host.

Hurricane Sandy Through The Lens of @MikeShanePhoto

Hurricane Sandy wrecked havoc on my home town of Staten Island and all of the Tri-State area, causing extensive flooding, countless damage, and the unprecedented shutdown of New York, the likes of which no one has ever seen. This is not the whole picture, not by a long shot. This is simply one man’s perspective & experience.

Flukey Ft. Laya LaRoche – Hype Mode (Video)

Directed by: Theory of Mind

Shawn Michaels fan and my broski Flukey just dropped a video with his Oceanz 13 crew. Young Flu goes in over Janelle Monae’s Tight Rope. Laya LaRoche sounds like Janelle Monae a little, how cute is Laya maybe its the fact she’s holding a cigar and wearing fancy stockings….Kanye Shrug.

Again I will say this if you dont support the talent that comes from where you live can you really call yourself a music fan?

The Higher Concept – #OCCUPYWALLSTREET (Video)

The Occupy Movement started in NYC on September 17th and has grown into a worldwide movement that has protests going on in over 200 cities across America. In NYC there has been huge outpouring of support from the hippies, the general public, celebrities  as well as the larger work unions.

The Higher Concept, and producer J Glaze created a song about the Occupy movement. The Higher Concept (THC) visited these protestors in Liberty Plaza, and were upset to see how unfamiliar our friends and families were with the protests based on the little coverage it has received in mainstream media outlets. Inspired by the voice of the people, THC wrote a song and put together a music video showcasing what has been happening in NYC over the past three weeks.

You can download this tune via THC’s SoundCloud.

Cappadonna – Pull Your Life Together (Video)

First song from Cap’s new mixtape “Eyrth, Wynd, and Fyre” produced entirely by J.Glaze

Topanga likes Topanga

The Higher Concept is featured on the critically acclaimed Scumbino’s Way, THC has a song on the album entitled Topanga, produced by Mike Cash. Now here’s  a reason why I love social networking. IB of The Higher Concept tweeted Danielle Fishel (Topanga of Boy Meets World) to check out the song. Danielle responded. I think she is now a part of #TeamScumbino

If you haven’t had the chance to download Scumbino’s Way, my suggestion is get on that now. For fucks sake the album is on the front page of this very website. Or just click here.

Emilio Sparks ft Jon Connor – Insecure Suicide (Music Video)

So next week July 19th thats a Tuesday for all hip cats…. Team Scumbino releases Scumbino’s Way. Jon Connor was in town for less than 24 hours. In that time span Jon shot two videos and had a live performance. The amount of respect if have for Jon is crazy, his flight landed & he and his camp came to staten and shot this video for several hours.

“Insecure Suicide is beautiful video, that shows an artists struggle in the music industry. Dealing with all the insecurities that lead to a loss of faith, but its faith that gives us complete confidence or trust to follow our dreams” - Puma

Directed by Puma
Music Produced by Mike Cash

Shout outs to Mike Shane who scouted the locations for this music video.
