The ‘Pay Day EP’ is the 3rd project released by Swerve & SYG, the previous one being only a couple months prior with Cold Winters & Warm Whiskey 2. The ‘Pay Day EP’ was created to wrap up a Swerve & SYG series titled ‘Pay Day’ which happen to drop on the 1st & the 15th each month. The two have been releasing solo songs alternate of each other twice a month since January of this year. They have added 3 entirely new Swerve & SYG songs as well as remixed previously released Swerve songs like ‘No Lifeguard On Duty’ & ‘Somethings Gotta Give’ to include SYG. Swerve is going in on this. As usual, he spits over a more mellow track that allows his words to accentuate. Nice guitar lick with a soothing baseline. Yea, this works.
Coming off of a GREAT free album (review coming soon), they still have the Pay Day series dropping. This is one of those videos that were made for them. I’m not sure if they financed it or if it is fan made for them. Regardless, I love it. Get with it.
Swerve and SYG just released their 2nd installment of their Cold Weather and Warm Whiskey series. I’m happy it finally came out. I can’t wait to give it a spin.
From swerve916.com:
Properly titled Cold Winters & Warm Whiskey 2 is sponsored by 2dopeboyz.com, kevinnottingham.com and no-buzz.net. Today is exactly 1 year since we released last years installment of CWWW and I can honestly say I hope you love this mixtape as much we did making it. It’s hands down our best work yet and really shows our growth over the last year while still sticking to that honest, authentic feel that fans first fell in love with last year.
Making use of great footage is always great. Making use of donated footage for a dope song is another. Swerve and SYG have done it again. I can only hope CW&WW2 brings the heat. And by heat, I mean that warm burning in the chest from taking a shot of some old fashioned rot gut.
Swerve just sent this to me to make sure I posted on there. Well, I gave it a listen. This is, as usual, nice as hell. I like how he keeps it honest with the rhymes. I think that will be his appeal: being brutally honest. Oh, and his flow is fluid like spring water. Peep it out!
Flipping a familiar sample, Swerve goes in. I mean, really. He does not let up the entire song. I think it was the groove of the song. I don’t know. But I don know that he was in a zone. I am feeling this.
Well, I see Swerve and SYG still has it. The big homie is using this on their upcoming album as well as the new project coming from Rav.P. Thus, I would suggest you all peep this. The music isn’t stopping. You might as well join in the warmth of the whiskey in these cold winters.
With Cold Winters & Warm Whiskey 2 on it’s way, Swerve and SYG are looking to start a new series entitled Pay Day. This joint is smooth and cold as fuck, very cool give it a listen. Check the first two singles here and here
