Dice Raw feat. Raheem DeVaughn – Somebody Loves You (Official Music Video)

Oh, okay. Now this is pretty damn nice. Maybe its the visuals. Maybe its the rhymes. Maybe its the incorporation of the singing that makes it all work. I don’t know. But I have realized that this works for me.

Ab-Soul – Pineal Gland (video)

Control System coming on May 11, 2012? Must be another album that I have to purchase. Yeah, I have no choice. His music is quite magnetic. Hopefully, his album will release any doubts as to what he is capable of.

Mickey Factz – Mickey Mause (review)

Mickey Factz recently released Mickey Mause, a concept mixtape. It deals with the life and times of an artist during the 80′s in NYC. He becomes affiliated with Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Keith Haring. He does graffiti. He loses friends to drugs and diseases. He loses his composure. He watches it all become lost within the art. This is his journey.

Peep the response:

Mickey Factz is an enigma of an artist. Once featured to be one of the “next” by XXL, he was supposed to blow up. Yet, that didn’t exactly happen. Next to Jay Electronica, he has been sort of elusive. Sure, he dropped music. Yet, it either was spotty or didn’t have the desired effect on the masses. So, for a span of six months, he went into character.

No longer being Mickey Factz, he became Mickey Mause. Mause is supposed to be a reclusive artist that was friends with Warhol, Basquiat, and other art-farts that became pop icons. With estranged beard, spray cans, and wearing yesterday’s best, he went full Denzel Washington. Meaning: he became enveloped by his role. He became Mause.
What came of this? Well, Mickey gave us a mixtape that samples a lot of Deadmaus and Gnarls Barkley. Oddly enough, it works to impressive results.

Childish Gambino – Heartbeat (video)

Love him or hate him, he has been musically successful. I personally like his stuff. It may not be wholly “original”, but what truly is? At least it is authentic. Now, all I care about his him making dope stuff continuously.

Chuuwee – Watching the Throne (video)

In support of his highly dope mixtape (Watching The Throne), we get to see a visual for the title track. Making an interpolation of “N*ggas in Paris”, Chuuwee spits some highly opinionated stuff about how he feels about the situation. I guess its safe to say that once we see this video, we will know how he feels. Pay attention to the mural in the background, too. Just a heads up, people.

Rapsody – ABC (video)

RAPSODY – ABC from Pricefilms on Vimeo.

Rapsody breaks out with her new single off of her lauded mixtape For Everything. With this video, she goes through important words, names, and ideals that are important to her…in relation to the alphabet of course. Also, all the illiterate fools can learn how to say their ABC’s. That way, you can’t say she didn’t teach you something, right? Right.

GLC – Jesse Owens (video)

Chick, he still goin’…he Jesse Owens. Whomever has the audacity to call themselves Jesse Owens in the most arrogant displays of metaphorical usage needs to make sure their tracks are dope. With GLC, you get nothing but dope on wax. I promise you Kanye made a mistake by letting him get away. Now he’s doing more for himself than he ever did on GOOD Music. Which is a shock.

Oh, and his adlibs are damn near getting as good as Jeezy’s.

Killa Kyleon – Regular/Average

We all know how much of a fan I am of Killa Kyleon. The syrup sipping, weight lifting, lyrical assassin of Houston has been grinding. He even has impressed Dante Ross. Yes, THAT Dante Ross. And if you don’t know who Dante is, then you need your hip hop pass revoked.
