GZA feat. WAVVES – Liquid Swords

Liquid WAVVES? This seems like a great idea in theory. GZA is a hip-hop legend, and WAVVES are one of the most relevant indie bands around. Both are lauded for their unconventional styles of music, so putting them together might be a good idea, right? Maybe, but unfortunately for GZA, his timing and delivery was a bit off during the beginning of this classic track. But don’t let this description stop you. Judge for yourself.

Either way, Liquid Swords is one of the greatest rap records/albums of all time. GZA milks it for all it’s worth, but that’s okay. Liquid Swords 2: The Return of the Shadowboxer is still in the works with a rumored 2011 release. Meanwhile, WAVVES’ Life Sux ep drops on September 20, and frontman Nathan Williams is writing the score for MTV’s new series “I Just Want My Pants Back.”

The Lox, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon – Wu-Block

And this is the most interesting song I have heard today. Noticing that the Wu is making a resurgence musically, it would only be right for these factions to link up and make gully-gully NY music. Not any of that positive, hold-hands-under-the-trees stuff. And I LOVE that type of music. Sometimes, however, it is time for me to rekindle that urban flame that hungers for the dirt-poor-on-the-corner sound. This should do the trick.

My Little Pony remixes Hip Hop!

Well, not exactly. What we do get are some hilarious syncing videos over hip hop jams. Can’t say I hate this. It is actually hilarious. People may try and deny my manhood until they realize how foolishly fun these videos are.

Raekwon & Prodigy on The Set of “Ferry Boat Killaz”

Raekwon & Prodigy – Filming of Ferry Boat Killaz from LRG on Vimeo.

This video should be EPIC #STATENISLAND. Will Prodigy have a cameo “Ferry Boat Killaz”? I like to think so. We need a new joint venture from Chef & Prodigy.

The Staten Island part of me is always hyped when we get a nod. I mean when you think of Staten Island, the WU is one of the first things that comes to mind right ? Well maybe depends on your connotation of my Utopia.

Where I’m From x Method Man (video)

Meth recalls a straining try-out for Cappadonna’s crew, around a time when the future Wu members used to battle each other… Going back to 8th grade, Meth talks friendship, dark secrets & comic books. I like how this was shot how open meth was, its always great to see superstars go home & reminisce. #statenIsland

Much Respect to Gasface for the quality series.

Rocksmith X Wu-Tang Holiday 2010 Collection

“Following the success of the Wu Massacre collaboration, Rocksmith graphically interprets the birth of the Wu Legend in a series of five tee shirts. They are delivered with a hoodie, knit headwear and a premium M65 jacket-all made in the USA. The Iron Flag M65 jacket, constructed of leather and melton wool, fuses the design elements of a M65 with a classic varsity. The C.R.E.A.M. hoodie features twill appliqued lettering with zig zag stitching. From the 36 Chambers tee to the most iconic cassette in hip hop, Raekwon’s Purple Tape, this collection is for the true fans, aficionados and crate diggers. – Rocksmith

Where My Killer Tape At?

I’ve been reppin’ Staten Island for 8 years now, so naturally, I rep Wu-Tang pretty hard. This shirt is ridiculous. If you don’t get the reference, you need to listen to 36 Chambers or just watch this clip.

You can purchase the shirt at Rewind Effect.
