XV – Everyday Life (single)

XV-EverydayLife

XV does know how to make music. I hope people realize that he is probably here to stay. Regardless, just check for the single. He does what he does best: rhyme his ass off.

XV – Popular Culture (mixtape review) by Dead End Hip Hop

XV’s Popular Culture? Yeah, I like this project too. Zero Heroes is better. But still, it is dope to me. Most of the conceptual tracks really work.

XV feat. Schoolboy Q – AaaHH! Real Monsters

XV, XV, XV. You surely are taking your disgust out on the mic, I see. Oh, and a Schoolboy Q feature? Oh, nice! Yeah, I can get with this. It needs a visual, though. Just saying.

Popular Culture mixtape is coming sooner than you think. And I think by “sooner”, I mean tomorrow.

XV On Bringing Back “Classic Just Blaze” Sound

For Part 2 of XV’s interview with The Source (XV talks going mainstream in Part 1) the Warner Bros signee speaks on the music he’s cooking up with super-producer Just Blaze for his debut album, The Kid With The Green Backpack. XV talks about creating a conceptual project with the producer and aiming to bring back the “Classic Just Blaze” from the days Roc-A-Fella Records reigned supreme.

XV Talks Making Commercial Music & Debut Album

Warner Bros. signee XV stopped by The Source to discuss how he’s gunning for a mainstream audience with his new music, including his upcoming Awesome EP and his debut album, The Kid With The Green Backpack. The Wichita, Kansas emcee explains that he’s now ready to graudate from mixtape acclaim and deliver a project that can compete in the realm of commerical music. XV also updates fans on the progress of his debut LP, revealing that he’s about six songs in, and breaks down his vision for the project.

XV – #Endoftheworld

Got off of Twitter and set some real trends? Sign out of Facebook and get some real friends? Digital world and hashtag situations aside, XV is telling the truth. It may not be the end of the world, but people need to listen to this song right here.

XV – 27 Club

Interesting title. In reference to a special numbers in their lives, XV drops a cut in reminiscence of the short time people may have on Earth. Sex, drugs, and rock & roll can take us all under. Even in hip hop.

XV – Awesome

XV is awesome! Well, at least he feels like it in this video. Truth be told, he is a damn good emcee with charisma, panache, and full time humility. In the video, there are light hearted/comedic moments with Santa, Jesus, and Lacoste wearing preppy boys. Oh, and pretty girls, money, and his homies. Glad to see a video that isn’t so “serious”.

XV feat. GLC, Emilio Rojas & Casey Veggies – Blame Yourself

XV featuring Emilio Rojas, Casey Veggies and GLC on the chorus? Oh, why the hell not! This is a beautiful song about female ambition, dirty deeds, shady intentions, and pure failure. And, as usual, it ends bad for the person with the worst karma to offer. I wish people would take heed to songs like this. Alas, they rarely do. Bump this in your ride or on your Ipod anyway!

BET CYPHERS!!!!

Here are some of the BET Cyphers gearing up for this weekend’s festivities (or whatever) that are taking place for the BET Hip Hop Awards. What I found interesting is that Mike Epps joined in the end of the second cypher and did pretty solid. Whatever the case may be, people need to know some of these artists. These artists are making noise. Might as well watch them in a cypher, right?
