Rihanna’s highly new anticipated, explicit, over the top, sexy, outrageous, new music video S&M debuted Yesterday February 1st 2011. The red headed Barbados beauty has the web swirling around in a fucking frenzy. S&M is the third song to have a video released for it from the songstresses fifth studio album “Loud”. S&M has received some middle fingers from the people over at Youtube, who refuse to let viewers watch the video unless he/she has an account and is 18 years or older. 11 countries have also refused to let the video be played on their television networks until an edited version of the song, and video is released.
In the beginning of the video RiRi is seen being pulled by the media, into a press room were she is being wrapped in plastic and stuck to the wall while wearing a gown made out of newspaper articles with headlines about of course, herself. The pop singer takes the critics head on while singing to them in her defense. As she gives them hell on the mics the greedy media devils jot down her rants speechlessly wearing multi colored gag balls. One of my favorite scenes from the freak show would have to be when Rihanna walks out of a 1900′s single family home wearing badge vintage, with media pop culture blogging sensation Perez Hilton on a dog leash. The video ends with Rihanna on top of a desk covered in bandages, smiley face and tongue pins, surrounded by randoms in a mental institute.
I have to say that yes I honestly did enjoy the fuck me video, but did I think it was dramatized and over exaggerated past what the video was, Yes I Do. I thought it was fun, fresh, playful, insane, and crazy though. The video defiantly shows Rihanna’s versatility as an artist and to me really puts tone to the albums title LOUD.
